Appeal Pull Segments

UNDER REVIEW

Now, it is time to add segment in for the records you want in your solicitation.  Click on the menu item named "New Segment(s)".

The next dialog box allows you to either copy appeal segments from a previous appeal, or create a new, blank segment.  For now we will create a blank segment.

When you choose this option, Aegis CRM will prompt you for a "New Segment Count", we will enter 2 in the value box, and select Create.

Two new segments, named Segment 4 and 5 have been created.

Now click the New Segments icon again, but this time choose the Copy Existing Appeal Segments option.  Click on the binoculars next to the Appeal ID field.

A new dialog box will appear showing previous appeals.

Click the check box next to the appeal with ID 10092, then click save.  Aegis CRM will display all of the segments from the appeal chosen.

You can choose any or all of the segments, or can add segments from multiple appeals.  Choose the third segment in the list (B01) and click create.  Aegis CRM will add the chosen segment to the segment list. (When a segment is copied, all criteria information is also copied)

Now we are ready to set the criteria for our segments.  Click on Segment 4, and make sure that the Segment Attributes and Criteria window are visible.

In the Segment Attributes section, you need to give the segment an ID.  This can be either text or numbers.  (Remember that records solicited from this segment will be identified by the Appeal ID and the Segment ID).

For this example, we will give the segment an ID of "01", and a description of "Donors that gave a gift over $100".  We will also apply one of the packages we created earlier, "Demo Package 1".

We will put a value of $5.00 in the segment cost.  This is a cost per segment that will be applied in addition to the package cost.

If your segments will be sent at different times you can apply a Mail Date specific to that segment.  If all segments will be mailed at the same time the mail date in the Global Attributes will apply to all segments.

Next move to the criteria section, and under the Activity group, choose the Single Largest Activity Value field.  Use an operator of "Is Greater Than Or Equal To", and enter $100 in the value field.  Your criteria should now look like this:

Next choose the segment named Segment 5, and make the following changes:

  • ID = 02
  • Description = Donors that gave a gift over $50 and less than $100
  • Package = Demo Package 2
  • Segment Cost = $10
  • Criteria = Single Largest Activity Value Is Greater Than Or Equal To $50
  • Criteria = Single Largest Activity Value Is Less Than $100

Your segment should look like this:

For the final segment, configure as follows: (Note the addition of a value for the "Max Count" field)

  • ID = 03
  • Description = Donors that gave a gift over $5 and less than $50
  • Package = Demo Package 1
  • Segment Cost = $5
  • Max Count = 15,000
  • Criteria = Single Largest Activity Value Is Greater Than Or Equal To $5
  • Criteria = Single Largest Activity Value Is Less Than $50
